What Women Want...Or At Least Nursing Moms
Remember that old Mel Gibson movie What Women Want? I recall watching it intently to figure out what it was that I was supposed to want. I also recall never finding the answer.
Do you ever ask yourself, what do I as a nursing mom want? If you don't, it's time to ask.
It's so easy to get caught up in being a mom, i.e. being a 24/7 baby caretaker. But what does your identity as a mom mean to you? Does it mean that all your hopes and dreams take a backseat as you watch your little one go from latching to walking?
For some nursing moms, sleep is all they want. Desperately. Waking up every two-three hours to feed an extremely hungry baby all night long can wreak havoc on your ability to function. An uninterrupted eight hours of blissful slumber would likely be their write-in choice in a which is better sex or chocolate survey.
For other nursing moms, more hours in the day would be a godsend. Or how about more time to yourself just to sit and read a magazine? Is that really too much to ask?
At Udderly Hot Mama, we're all about nursing moms. While we can't come to your house to hold your little one while you take a bubble bath, we can help you in other ways. We are happy to connect you to moms in the know and to lactation consultants who can offer their expertise. And of course, we are also in the business of making moms feel gorgeous in our nursing tops during the time they're breastfeeding and beyond.
So today (or tonight) try to take a moment for yourself. Please, if there's a way we can take you to the next level of zen, we'll be happy to oblige.
