Breastfeeding in public can be scary
But it doesn't have to be! Check out 5 tips for breastfeeding in public on Healthy Baby Network. It's amazing what you can get used to doing when it's a necessity. I recall a moment when my daughter was about 3 months old and my parents and I ventured out to do some shopping at Kohl's.
My mom and I got separated from my dad and baby. But when she was hungry, I heard her screaming from across the store. I ran to get her and no amount of cuddling could quiet her down. So I pulled down (or up I can't remember) my shirt and threw her on the boob as my mom threw my nursing smock over top of me. I stood in line and nursed. It was the first time I really didn't care what people thought. Feeding my baby was the only thing that mattered to me.
What was troublesome though what that I didn't have one of these fashionable nursing tops to wear. I was at the mercy of some non functional clothing. I wish I'd had a pumping shirt or nursing top to wear for breastfeeding. Luckily with number two, that wasn't an issue!
